Basic principles of cross examination

The speaker, Sharan Jagtiani enlisted various suggestions to the participants while talking about an illustration in relation to a Limitation problem. He asked the participants to assess the case and to check the personal involvement of the witnesses with respect to the subject matter and discussed the concept of “Friendly Cross Examination”. While referring to a conversation he once had with Mr. Jethmalani, the speaker advised that anticipation of answers by the witnesses should be performed, and then one should prepare the line of questions based on each answer. Later, Mr. Jagtiani explained various approaches of questioning while referring to some confidential disputes. Subsequently, participants indulged in the Mock Cross- Examination, wherein they performed the roles of the Tribunal, Counsels, and Witnesses.
